Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Matt Lindberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sancho Zola (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Zola's choice of entrance music: Black Crow On A Tombstone by Satyricon. Matt Lindberg could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Sancho Zola's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Matt Lindberg! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sancho Zola! The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Hirohito Nitta and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zola misses with a takedown and Lindberg counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Zola! Zola has worked his way to half guard, taking advantage of Lindberg's lack of action.
Lindberg tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Zola preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zola looks like he's trying to stand up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Zola is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Lindberg sitting and controlling from the half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Zola wants to get back to his feet. Lindberg wants to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Lindberg takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We're going to have a standup here because Matt Lindberg wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Zola throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Lindberg tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Zola is in Lindberg's guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Zola preventing the sweep. Zola slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Matt Lindberg will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Lindberg throws a sloppy head kick and Zola counters with a takedown into side control. Zola tries to score with some ground and pound. Lindberg controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Lindberg isn't going anywhere. Lindberg tries to buck Zola off but Zola is having none of it. Lindberg is being controlled here. Lindberg dodges the ground and pound from Zola. Zola controlling the position from side mount. Lindberg knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Zola on the ground. Zola wants to control but Lindberg is keeping him busy.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Zola working the ground and pound. Zola is putting a hurting on Lindberg here, landing some big shots from side control. Zola lands a nice forearm strike. Zola working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. The ground and pound from Zola seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Zola works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Lindberg is not content to let Zola control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Zola working the strikes but Lindberg uses the opportunity to regain half guard. Zola winds up and cracks Lindberg with a swinging punch to the side of the head. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Zola missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Zola is taking a breather. Lindberg says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Zola wants to free his trapped foot but Lindberg is holding on for dear life with his legs. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Zola decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice body kick from Lindberg. Zola misses with a hook
and Lindberg makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Zola really felt that one! Lindberg lands a nice shot to the body.
Zola stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Zola scores with a punch to the head.
Lindberg is rocked! Lindberg is looking to land body kicks. Oh Lindberg is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Zola shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lindberg but Lindberg pushes him off and we're back to square one. Lindberg seems to have got his legs back now. Lindberg moves out of range as Zola strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lindberg lands an overhand right. Matt Lindberg is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Lindberg clinches up with Zola and pushes him back against the cage. Zola drops down looking for an ankle pick but Lindberg pulls his leg out and moves away.
Zola shoots for a double leg takedown but Lindberg sprawls well. He's pushed Zola's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Matt Lindberg has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sancho Zola. Lindberg fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Zola looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Lindberg throws a sloppy head kick so Zola counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Zola is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Zola wants to control from the top but Lindberg keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sancho Zola showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

and Lindberg counters with a good, hard body kick but Zola shrugs it off. Lindberg pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Lindberg displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Zola. Nice sprawl there from Lindberg as Zola shoots in. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Zola avoids the head kick by Lindberg.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Zola. Matt Lindberg has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sancho Zola. Lindberg sizes up Zola with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lindberg pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Lindberg ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Zola moves away. Zola gets off balance looking for a body kick and Lindberg counters with a flying knee. Nice. Lindberg connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Zola's hands. Lindberg lands a high kick!
Zola takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
No joy there for Zola, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Zola misses with a lunging right hand
and Lindberg counters with a head kick. Lindberg misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Lindberg tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Lindberg lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Lindberg moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Lindberg throws a lazy head kick and Zola decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Lindberg's guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Zola wants to pass the guard but Lindberg is keeping the position. Lindberg wants to stand up but Zola is controlling him. Lindberg keeping moving, preventing Zola from controlling successfully. Sancho Zola has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lindberg looking to control.
Zola is stalling in the full guard.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Lindberg scores with a head kick.
Lindberg fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Zola has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Lindberg stuffs the takedown attempt from Zola. Zola gets slowly back to his feet. A looping hook to the body misses from Zola. Lindberg does a little dance to reset his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Lindberg throws a head kick that misses. Matt Lindberg seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A solid leg kick lands there for Lindberg.
Nice takedown defense from Lindberg. No joy for Zola on that attempt. Zola throws a left and a right that both miss
and Lindberg counters with a head kick. That will keep Zola thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Zola takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Lindberg misses with a head kick.
Zola fails with a takedown attempt. Zola fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
And that's the end of the fight! Matt Lindberg showed his dominance in that final round. I think Lindberg has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
