Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ivan Swistopliasov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jimmy Euringer! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Ivan Kurochkin and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Euringer fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Euringer scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Euringer swings for the body but Swistopliasov moves out of range.
Euringer falls off balance throwing a combination
enabling Swistopliasov to counter with a crisp jab. Nice uppercut there from Euringer. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Euringer slaps away a takedown attempt from Swistopliasov, before circling back to the center of the mat. Euringer looks to land a right hand but Swistopliasov moved out of range. Jimmy Euringer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Euringer ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Swistopliasov moves away. Euringer rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Swistopliasov moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Euringer swings widly with a right hand
and Swistopliasov counters with a single leg into guard. Euringer didn't expect that. Euringer is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Euringer is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Swistopliasov is controlling him. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Euringer can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's one minute gone in the round. Euringer looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Euringer seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Swistopliasov is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Swistopliasov stops Euringer from standing up. Swistopliasov will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Swistopliasov drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Swistopliasov jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Euringer controlling the position. Swistopliasov has gone for a leg lock! Euringer slips out almost immediately though and dives into Swistopliasov's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Swistopliasov has his feet on Euringer's thighs here. He's pushed Euringer off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Euringer screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
