Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jorge Cordes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Macho Savage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jorge Cordes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Macho Savage!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Steve Erwin and Donatello Bradman.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Savage dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Savage drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Savage wants to control from the top but Cordes keeps moving.
Savage trying to move into half guard but instead Cordes has managed to sweep!
Savage controls Cordes momentarily but Cordes frees himself.
Savage is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Cordes pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Savage is keeping the position for now.
Cordes wants to control from the top but Savage keeps moving.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cordes accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Cordes working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

Savage uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Cordes throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

and Savage counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Savage looking to sit in guard and control but Cordes gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Cordes stands up from Savage's guard - Cordes perhaps looking for a knockout.

Savage throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Cordes was covering up waiting for the punch and Savage finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Savage in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Savage postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Savage slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Cordes wants to sweep here but Savage controlling him for the moment.

Savage looking to sit in guard and control but Cordes gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cordes tries to free his leg and advance position but Savage is retaining full guard.
Cordes throws a big right hand that misses.
Cordes landing with the ground and pound.
Cordes wants to control from the top but Savage keeps moving.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Cordes is working Savage over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Cordes with a flurry of punches that miss.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cordes scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Cordes connects with a couple of short punches.
Cordes in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Savage wriggles free and stands up.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Savage uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Cordes.
A left lands for Cordes.
Savage scores with a jab to the jaw.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Cordes throws a right hand that Savage ducks under and follows up with a left that Savage also avoids with ease.
Cordes misses the jab.

Savage throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cordes's waist but Cordes gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Savage off to one side.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jorge Cordes will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Cordes feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Savage sprawling to the canvas! Savage rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Cordes finish him?!

Savage is rocked!
Cordes is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Savage flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Savage is out cold! Cordes holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
