Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, North Dakota Wrecking Machine! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ivan Gamaz! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Dmitry Maklakov and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gamaz misses with a double jab
and Wrecking Machine counters with a lovely straight right hand! Wrecking Machine tries to move into range but Gamaz moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Gamaz ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Gamaz moves out of range of the strikes. Wrecking Machine shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gamaz as he jumps to the side. Gamaz scores with a jab. Gamaz lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Gamaz lands a slapping body shot.
Gamaz bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Wrecking Machine's head. Wrecking Machine closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Gamaz stuffs the takedown. Gamaz misses with a low kick.
Gamaz displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Wrecking Machine. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for North Dakota Wrecking Machine. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nice takedown defense from Gamaz. No joy for Wrecking Machine on that attempt. Gamaz scores with a jab. Wrecking Machine acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Gamaz misses with a jab, cross combination.
Ivan Gamaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wrecking Machine tries to clinch but Gamaz is having none of it. Gamaz connects with a crisp jab. Wrecking Machine on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gamaz lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Wrecking Machine is rocked! Gamaz cracks Wrecking Machine on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Wrecking Machine falls backwards against the ropes. Gamaz follows up with more strikes that drop Wrecking Machine to his knees. Gamaz keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Wrecking Machine! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ivan Gamaz!
