Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Virgil Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samuel Banten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Evans's entrance music is Blow Up-J.Cole feat Eminem. A fine choice. Evans has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Samuel Banten looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evans shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Banten as he avoids it easily.
Banten closes the distance and clinches.

Banten misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Evans takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Evans shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Banten's guard.
Banten wants to get back to his feet but Evans is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Evans tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Banten paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Banten shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Evans eats them both and turns towards Banten to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Evans lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Banten circles away quickly and effectively.
Banten looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Evans moves in looking to clinch but Banten pushes him off.

Evans is really struggling to control Banten but he's trying to hold on to the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Banten misses with the combination.
No luck for Evans with that takedown attempt.
Evans feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Evans wants to control from the top but Banten keeps moving.
Banten really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Evans. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Evans stands and steps away. Banten gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

and Banten connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Banten feints a jab promting Evans to slip. Banten then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Evans slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Banten swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Evans misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Evans closes the distance looking to clinch
and Banten counters with a series of strikes. Evans will be more careful next time no doubt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Virgil Evans will probably get the nod.

Evans throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Banten tries to bum rush Evans with a series of wild strikes but Evans uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
