Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eric Germano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rowan Atkinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Atkinson has chosen GSP style :) as his entrance music. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Edson Gomes and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Germano misses with a hook. Atkinson ducked under it nicely.
Germano tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Atkinson was well out of range. Poor timing from Germano.
A looping hook to the body misses from Germano. Atkinson does a little dance to reset his feet.
Atkinson closes the distance and clinches up with Germano, looking for a takedown. Atkinson pushes Germano against the cage but Germano circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Atkinson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Atkinson remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Germano looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Atkinson! Submission of the night perhaps?
