Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Pete Higgedy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stuno Mashinata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Higgedy comes to the cage accompanied by (hed) pe - Blackout. Stuno Mashinata is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 13 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Pete Higgedy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Stuno Mashinata! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Ivan Kurochkin and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Higgedy closes the distance and pushes Mashinata back into the cage. Higgedy lands a damaging elbow. Higgedy misses with a knee to the head. Higgedy throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Mashinata blocks it with crossed arms. Higgedy lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Mashinata lands a damaging elbow. Higgedy pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Higgedy misses with a hook to the ribs.
Higgedy blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Higgedy misses with a knee to the head. Higgedy has had enough of the clinch but Mashinata keeps him there for the moment. Mashinata tries for a takedown but Higgedy manages to get underhooks.
Mashinata is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Higgedy is looking to control Mashinata's arms but Mashinata gets an underhook and turns him. Now Higgedy has his back to the cage. Higgedy avoiding damage as Mashinata throws knees to the body.

Mashinata tries to land knees in the clinch but Higgedy avoids the damage to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Higgedy pushes Mashinata back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. A battle for position here, against the cage. Mashinata has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Higgedy is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Mashinata tries to land a knee to the head but Higgedy blocks with his arms.
Higgedy lands a right hand. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Higgedy. Mashinata lands an elbow just above Higgedy 's eye. Higgedy tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

Mashinata tries to land knees in the clinch but Higgedy avoids the damage to the body. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Higgedy. Mashinata blocking some punches.
Higgedy is pressed up against the cage. Mashinata has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Higgedy down to the mat. Higgedy avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Mashinata keeps the fight on the outside. Higgedy tries a head kick but it misses.

letting Mashinata counter with a right hand. Higgedy moves to clinch but Mashinata breaks away enabling Mashinata to counter with a crisp jab.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Higgedy cracks the inside of Mashinata's front leg. Higgedy throws out a leg kick but Mashinata moves out of range and Higgedy only half commits. Higgedy lands a head kick. Mashinata smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Mashinata darts in trying to clinch and Higgedy counters by clinching up. Mashinata tries to land knees in the clinch but Higgedy avoids the damage to the body. Mashinata using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.

A short body shot lands from Higgedy as the two fighters clinch.
Mashinata tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Higgedy swings wildly with an uppercut but Mashinata uses good head movement to avoid it. Higgedy throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Higgedy makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Mashinata blocks an elbow strike from Higgedy.

That kick from Higgedy tenderised Mashinata's leg. Mashinata is trying to keep his angry face on. Nice defenses there by Mashinata.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Some bone on bone action there as Mashinata checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Higgedy rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Mashinata counters by clinching up. Mashinata blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Higgedy tries a knee to the head but Mashinata blocks it.
Mashinata has Higgedy pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Mashinata pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Higgedy tumbling to the mat - Mashinata dives into Higgedy's guard. Mashinata thows a big elbow that misses. Higgedy trying to control the position here. Mashinata working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Higgedy's head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pete Higgedy dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Mashinata moves in looking to clinch but Higgedy pushes him off. Higgedy goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Higgedy looks to throw a body kick and Mashinata holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Higgedy misses with a punch to the body.
Higgedy tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Mashinata is trying to stall.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Higgedy tries to reverse the position but Mashinata maintains control. Mashinata landing punches. Higgedy wants to hold on but Mashinata pushes him away. Mashinata looking to control but Higgedy is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Higgedy is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mashinata landing punches. Mashinata trying to control but Higgedy is having none of it. Mashinata controlling from mount. Higgedy is looking to improve his position but Mashinata isn't that keen on the idea.

Lucky escape for Higgedy because Mashinata loaded up on that one. Mashinata lands a big shot there that rocks Higgedy but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Mashinata cracks Higgedy with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
A nice elbow there by Mashinata. Mashinata tries to control but Higgedy wriggling away. Mashinata controlling his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Stuno Mashinata showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Mashinata has his takedown stuffed and Higgedy counters with an inside leg kick. Mashinata avoids a punch combination nicely.

Mashinata has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Mashinata thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Higgedy to regain full guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mashinata accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Mashinata preventing the sweep. Mashinata missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Higgedy keeping full guard, as Mashinata tries to pass. Mashinata trying to control but Higgedy is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Higgedy is looking to sweep but instead, Mashinata has passed into half guard.
Higgedy avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Mashinata. Mashinata is stalling here. Higgedy is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Mashinata seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Higgedy has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Higgedy looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Mashinata is avoiding damage well.
Mashinata is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Higgedy trying to control the action but Mashinata is working from the bottom. Higgedy is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Mashinata is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mashinata wants to improve his position but Higgedy is controlling well.
Mashinata is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Higgedy scores with a couple of nice shots. Mashinata wants to get back to full guard. Mashinata takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Higgedy thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Mashinata gets back to full guard.

Higgedy chips away with some ground and pound. Stuno Mashinata has got the better of the ground game so far. Higgedy pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mashinata is keeping the position for now. Higgedy is fighting to break Mashinata's control of his arms but Mashinata is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Higgedy postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
And that's the end of the fight! Stuno Mashinata comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Mashinata has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
