Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matthew Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jackson The Prince of Jiu Jitsu! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson misses with a takedown and The Prince of Jiu Jitsu connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Johnson rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Johnson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Johnson with a poor takedown enabling The Prince of Jiu Jitsu to counter with a crisp jab. Johnson chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before The Prince of Jiu Jitsu can pounce on him.
Johnson shoots and misses and The Prince of Jiu Jitsu counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Johnson's guard now. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matthew Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Johnson keeping moving, preventing The Prince of Jiu Jitsu from controlling successfully. Johnson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. The Prince of Jiu Jitsu looking to control the position here, rather than advance. The Prince of Jiu Jitsu sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Johnson's guard. The Prince of Jiu Jitsu is working for a kimura but Johnson is defending it quite comfortably.
