Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Cross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tj Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Cross might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Enter Sandman- Metallica . I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cross shoots in and gets a takedown into Cruz's guard. Cruz scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Cruz misses with a double jab
and Cross counters with a one-two to the body. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Cruz stuffs the takedown. Cross misses with a series of wild punches.
Cruz uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Cross has time to react. Cruz closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Cruz lands in his opponent's guard. Cruz looking to sit in guard and control but Cross gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cross looking to pass the guard. Cruz controlling Cross's posture. Cross will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Cruz working a defensive guard here.
Cross is pushing down on Cruz's leg trying to pass to half guard. Cruz is fighting to maintain full guard but Cross has managed to sneak the leg through. Cruz has one foot on Cross's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Cross fails with the takedown and Cruz counters with a single leg into guard. Cross didn't expect that. Cross is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cruz trying to control but Cross is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cruz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cross. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Cruz controlling from the top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cruz trying to control the position from guard on top but Cross is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Tj Cruz wasn't active enough on the ground. Cruz changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Cross looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. The ground and pound from Cruz seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cruz decides to stand back up. Cross is looking to land body kicks. Cruz looks for a takedown but Cross sprawls well. Cruz tries a head kick but it misses.
Cross has his takedown stuffed and Cruz counters by moving into the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ricky Cross. That's going to take a lot out of him. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Cruz stops a takedown attempt from Cross.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Cross is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tj Cruz dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Cruz with a lazy takedown attempt and Cross counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Cruz misses with a hook. Cross scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Cross goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Cruz has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Cross but great work by Cruz. Cruz advances to full mount. Cruz with the ground and pound from mount. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Cruz looking to control but Cross is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cruz looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Cruz trying to control but Cross is having none of it. Cruz breaks from Cross's wrist control and lands an elbow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Cruz controlling from mount. Cross is squirming around, avoiding Cruz's attempts to control the action. Cruz lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cruz wants to control the action but instead Cross gets a body lock and reverses into Cruz's guard! Nice work! Cruz wants to sweep but no luck. Cross is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Cruz is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Cross stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cruz swivels though and keeps the full guard. Cross drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Cruz dives on top into guard. Cruz must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Cruz stands up and waves to Cross to follow him. Cruz lands a jab to the head.
A combination from Cross does no damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tj Cruz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Cruz has his takedown stuffed and Cross counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Cruz's guard now. Cruz looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Cross has picked Cruz up and slammed him! Cruz can't keep hold of the triangle and Cross manages to pass to side control! Cross has hold of Cruz's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Cruz tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Cross cranks the arm and Cruz screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Cruz, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:33 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Ricky Cross!
