PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rex Munroe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Devin Urquidez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rex Munroe had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 172.0lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Devin Urquidez told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Devin Urquidez!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Tiny Johnson and Wesley Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Urquidez fails with an attempt to clinch.

Urquidez tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Munroe paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Munroe swings widly with a right hand
and Urquidez counters with a nice leg kick.
Munroe really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Urquidez throws a head kick that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Urquidez counters with a head kick. That will keep Munroe thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Urquidez tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Munroe manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
A chopping leg kick lands by Urquidez.
Urquidez moves forwards but Munroe connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Urquidez throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
A solid leg kick lands there for Urquidez.
