The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

de Sapi has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pizduidze can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Pizduidze is trying to control the action in half guard but de Sapi is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
de Sapi is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Pizduidze has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

de Sapi tries to lock up and control but Pizduidze gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Pizduidze cracks de Sapi with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Pizduidze is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Pizduidze extends the arm and de Sapi is forced to tap!
