PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Maestro Kidlat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Da Giant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Giant has chosen Eye of the Tiger as his entrance music. The key to victory for Maestro Kidlat has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Maestro Kidlat!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Da Giant!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yuuki Gou and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kidlat tries a head kick but it misses.
Kidlat throws a sloppy head kick and Giant moves out of range easily.
Kidlat throws a low kick, looking for Giant's leg but Giant calmly moves out of range.
Kidlat thows a body shot but no joy.
Giant avoids the body shot from Kidlat.
Kidlat throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Giant shoots in looking for a takedown but Kidlat manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Giant's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Kidlat fails to land with a series of punches.
Giant takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Kidlat lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Kidlat lands with a kick to the temple. Giant shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Giant throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kidlat's waist but Kidlat gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Giant off to one side.
Kidlat throws a head kick but Giant moves out of range.
Kidlat stuns Giant with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kidlat connects with a high kick.
Kidlat swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Giant shoots in looking for a takedown but Kidlat manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Giant's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Maestro Kidlat has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Da Giant.
Kidlat digs a good body shot into Giant's ribs.

Giant feints and as Kidlat raises his hands in defense, Giant changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Giant looks gassed!
Giant is looking to work some ground and pound but Kidlat has wrist control.
Kidlat utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Kidlat is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Kidlat wants to get back to his feet but Giant is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Giant postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Kidlat knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Giant on the ground.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Giant stops Kidlat from standing up.

Giant gets to his feet - Kidlat follows without any prompting.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Kidlat.
Nice straight punches there by Kidlat. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Kidlat.
Giant shoots in but Kidlat avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Giant scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Horrible takedown by Giant or perhaps it was just good defense by Kidlat which made him look bad.
Kidlat misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A head kick misses from Kidlat.
Giant fails with a takedown attempt.
Kidlat looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Kidlat throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Kidlat lands with a slapping head kick.
Giant is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kidlat sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Giant shoots for a double leg takedown but Kidlat sprawls well. He's pushed Giant's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Kidlat lands a jab to Giant's midsection.
Giant avoids the head kick by Kidlat.
Giant shoots in and drives through. Kidlat sprawls well.
Maestro Kidlat seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kidlat tries a head kick but it misses.
Horrible takedown by Giant or perhaps it was just good defense by Kidlat which made him look bad.
Kidlat lands a front kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Maestro Kidlat dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Kidlat moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Kidlat fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Kidlat is looking to wear down Giant with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
A head kick misses from Kidlat.
Giant shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kidlat as he jumps to the side.
Kidlat throws a nice head kick!

Giant closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kidlat to the mat! Kidlat manages to get full guard.
Giant trying to control the position from guard on top but Kidlat is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kidlat is trying to keep Giant in close.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kidlat wants to stand and escape but Giant is having none of it.
Kidlat keeping full guard, as Giant tries to pass.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Giant drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Giant jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Giant with a nice head shot there.
Kidlat working a defensive guard but Giant manages to pass into side control anyway.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Giant has hold of Kidlat's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Kidlat tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Giant cranks the arm and Kidlat screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Kidlat, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Da Giant!
