And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 33 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mabishiro Sakamoto!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ames gets a takedown into half guard.
Ames is thwarting Sakamoto's attempts to control the position.
Sakamoto wants to get back to his feet.
Sakamoto missing with punches from the bottom.
Sakamoto is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Sakamoto looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Sakamoto is trying to stand back up but Ames is controlling him
Ames is thwarting Sakamoto's attempts to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ames thows a huge punch but Sakamoto dodges it nicely.

Ames is trying to work for a kimura but Sakamoto is defending well.

Ames is working for a submission of some sort.

Ames is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Sakamoto is defending against the submission attempts here by Ames.
Sakamoto keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Sakamoto really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ames. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Sakamoto wants to get back to full guard.
Sakamoto looks gassed!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Ames wants to work for an arm triangle but Sakamoto is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Sakamoto blocking the ground and pound attempt from Ames.

Ames is trying to work for a kimura but Sakamoto is defending well.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
