Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Scott Weber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcos Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Weber comes to the cage accompanied by The Acacia Strain - . Scott Weber looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Scott Weber!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Marcos Griffin!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Weber swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Weber looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Weber blocks a head kick by Griffin.

Griffin rushes Weber and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Griffin breaks from the clinch.

Griffin shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Griffin seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Weber does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Griffin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Weber. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Griffin seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Griffin is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Griffin controlling the position easily from mount.
Griffin tries to control but Weber wriggling away.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Griffin can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Weber is looking to escape.
Griffin takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Griffin is in the full mount, landing strikes.

Despite being in the dominant position, Marcos Griffin just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Weber looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Griffin closes the distance and clinches.
Griffin misses with a punch on the inside.
Griffin tries to throw a body punch but Weber avoids it by throwing Griffin back against the cage.

Griffin pulls guard effortlessly.
Griffin has control of Weber's left arm, preventing Weber from doing any damage.

Griffin kicks Weber off and gets to his feet.
Weber moves out of range of the body kick.
Griffin tries to clinch there but Weber circles away.
Weber darts in trying to clinch

and Griffin counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Weber's guard now.
Griffin trying to control the position from guard on top but Weber is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Griffin pushing down on Weber's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Griffin is figuring out what he wants to do next.
I looks like Griffin might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Griffin stands up from half guard.

Griffin shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Griffin was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Weber swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.

Weber is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Griffin prevents Weber from getting the reversal.
Weber wants to control but Griffin is having none of it.
Griffin is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Weber can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marcos Griffin dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Weber shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Griffin decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Weber's guard.
Griffin tries to free his leg and advance position but Weber is retaining full guard.
Marcos Griffin has got the better of the ground game so far.
Weber wants to sweep but no luck.
Weber is trying to hold Griffin in close to prevent damage but Griffin has managed to pass into half guard.

Griffin stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Weber to get to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Griffin looks for a takedown but Weber sprawls well.

Griffin throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Griffin shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Weber counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

Weber tries to keep at a distance but Griffin has taken the fight into the clinch.

Griffin breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
No luck for Weber with that takedown attempt.
Griffin wants to clinch up but Weber keeps it at a distance.
Griffin tries to close the distance and clinch up but Weber swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Griffin misses with a hook
and Weber counters with a one-two to the body.
Griffin lands a with a good body shot.
Weber slips a jab and a cross from Griffin.
Griffin looks to clinch
and Weber counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

Griffin clinches but Weber breaks the clinch
and Weber counters with a left and a right that stings Griffin.
Griffin throws an off balance right hand

and Weber holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Griffin tries to stall but Weber uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Griffin breaks from the clinch.
A head kick misses from Griffin.
Griffin with a poor takedown

and Weber counters with a single leg into guard. Griffin didn't expect that.
Scott Weber has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcos Griffin.
Griffin manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Griffin cracks Weber with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Griffin wants to control the pace but Weber is squirming around nicely.

Marcos Griffin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Griffin is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Weber pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Griffin throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Weber blocks it with crossed arms.
Griffin tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Weber just stands there and leans against the cage.

Griffin escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

and Weber moves into the clinch.
Griffin changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Weber fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Scott Weber has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcos Griffin.
Griffin tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Weber shoots in looking for a takedown. Griffin tries to sprawl out of it but Weber keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Griffin manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Weber slips a jab from Griffin.

Weber avoids the head kick by Griffin.
Weber closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Griffin shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Griffin showed some decent athleticism there.
Still in half guard, Griffin seems content to control.
Griffin slips a nice elbow through Weber's hands, connecting with Weber's forehead.
Weber is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Griffin jumps into side control!
Griffin tries to advance to mount but Weber denies him.
Griffin is looking to take a break and control but Weber is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Weber tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Griffin wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Weber on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Weber tries to get out of the position.
Griffin might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Weber kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Weber has control of an arm but Griffin manages to advance to Griffin's back!

Griffin wants to control but Weber is keeping busy.

Weber takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Griffin thuds his right hand into Weber's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Scott Weber is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Weber misses with a combination

and Griffin counters by moving into the clinch.
Griffin is trying to break free.
The referee calls for Griffin to work.
Griffin continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up.
Griffin lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Griffin is pressed up against the cage. Weber has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Griffin down to the mat. Griffin avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Weber gets cracked there but stands up to it.


Weber is rocked!

Griffin gets a big slam - oh, Weber is out! Weber is out! That's a nasty KO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:46 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Slam). Marcos Griffin!
