Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cohen Maloney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hank Tyrell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maloney slips a jab from Tyrell.
Maloney shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Tyrell as he jumps to the side.

Maloney closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Maloney lands in his opponent's guard.

Maloney drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Tyrell manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Maloney has Tyrell in his guard.

Maloney bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Tyrell's guard.

Maloney drops back looking for a leg! Tyrell is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Tyrell manages to kick Maloney off! Maloney jumps back into Tyrell's guard.

A head kick from Tyrell lands but Maloney takes it in his stride.
Cohen Maloney is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tyrell accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Maloney scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Maloney shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Tyrell's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Maloney decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

It looks like Hank Tyrell has been cut.

Maloney has hold of Tyrell's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Tyrell manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Tyrell is looking to improve his position but Maloney isn't that keen on the idea.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Maloney is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Tyrell to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Tyrell shrugs it off.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Maloney accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Maloney here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Tyrell is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

I would just about give that final round to Hank Tyrell.
