Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Sawyer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Jones! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sawyer stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sawyer wants it to stay on the feet. Jones bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Jones shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Sawyer napping and manages to drive through into side control! Jones trying to control the position but Sawyer is working away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sawyer tries to bench press Jones off him but Jones keeps the position. Sawyer prevents Jones from moving into mount. Sawyer gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Jones lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Jones with good strikes from the mount here! Jones raining down hammerfists from mount. Jones working for a submission but Sawyer is keeping him at bay. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Sawyer is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Sawyer is trying to stand up. Jones is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Sawyer can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Jones wants to finish this one by submission but Sawyer is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Jones. Sawyer keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Jones is landing with some decent strikes but Sawyer is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jones landing strikes from the mount and Sawyer is in trouble! Jones with the ground and pound from mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones raining down hammerfists from mount. Jones tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Sawyer is breathing heavily. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. A nice elbow there by Jones. Jones punishing his opponent with strikes. Sawyer knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jones on the ground. Jones trying to control but he's not successful this time. Jones putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Jones wants to control the pace but Sawyer is squirming around nicely. Jones is landing with some decent strikes but Sawyer is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Jones looking to finish Sawyer with some ground and pound. This is bad for Sawyer!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Jones lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Sawyer hang on? Jones cracks Sawyer with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Jones has isolated one of Sawyer's arms. Sawyer looking to fight him off but Jones twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
