The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Sakurai counters with a head kick that drops Nelson to the mat! Nelson scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Hayato Sakurai has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kyle Nelson.

Nelson looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Sakurai lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Nelson is still on wobbly legs! Can Sakurai finish him?
That has opened up Kyle Nelson's cut even more.
Nelson takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Sakurai! Nelson is out on his feet! Sakurai rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Nelson is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Nelson is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hayato Sakurai!
