Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mason Dixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mr Gonzalez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dixon's entrance music is It's A Fight by Three 6 Mafia. A fine choice. Gonzalez has chosen Ole Ole Ole Ole Ole Ole Ole as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mason Dixon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mr Gonzalez! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Felipe Paraventi and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gonzalez rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Dixon counters with a stiff right hand. Dixon slips a jab and a cross from Gonzalez.
Gonzalez darts in trying to clinch and Dixon counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Dixon tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gonzalez was well out of range. Poor timing from Dixon. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gonzalez tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Dixon paws at him with a jab and circles away. Gonzalez moves in looking to clinch but Dixon pushes him off. Mr Gonzalez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dixon shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dixon is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Gonzalez manages to get to full guard.
Gonzalez wants to sweep here but Dixon controlling him for the moment. Dixon wants to control from the top but Gonzalez keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Dixon advances position into side control! Dixon working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Dixon tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dixon swings around for an armbar but Gonzalez sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Dixon's guard. Gonzalez wants to get up but he can't break Dixon's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Dixon had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Gonzalez defends it easily. Dixon looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dixon has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Gonzalez has passed into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dixon is trying to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. You can see the frustration on Dixon's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Dixon is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Gonzalez is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Dixon is squirming around, avoiding Gonzalez's attempts to control the action. Gonzalez jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Dixon manages to avoid the submission attempt. Dixon tries to bench press Gonzalez off him but Gonzalez keeps the position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Gonzalez decides to stand up, so the ref orders Dixon to his feet. Dixon shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Gonzalez pinned against the cage. Gonzalez gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mason Dixon dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Gonzalez tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Dixon manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Mason Dixon is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Gonzalez tries to clinch and Dixon counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Dixon is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Gonzalez gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Dixon being controlled against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gonzalez lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Dixon backwards. Gonzalez digs a right hand into Dixon's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Dixon's gas tank.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gonzalez can't find room to land a body shot as Dixon controls the action.
Gonzalez tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Dixon's elbow. Dixon has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Gonzalez avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Gonzalez escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Gonzalez misses with a shot to the body and Dixon counters with a lovely straight right hand! Dixon shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Gonzalez sprawls well. Gonzalez wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dixon gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mason Dixon. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gonzalez slips under a jab. Dixon is trying hard to land a takedown here. Gonzalez sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Gonzalez tries to clinch up and Dixon decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Gonzalez's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dixon trying to move into half guard but instead Gonzalez has managed to sweep! Dixon looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Dixon controls Gonzalez momentarily but Gonzalez frees himself. Gonzalez gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. No joy there for Gonzalez, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Dixon on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Mr Gonzalez is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dixon shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Gonzalez but Gonzalez pushes him off and we're back to square one. Gonzalez scores with a crisp jab that stopped Dixon in his tracks. Dixon wants to clinch up but Gonzalez keeps it at a distance. Gonzalez staying out of range there. Dixon swings for the body but Gonzalez moves out of range.
Gonzalez gets in close and instigates a clinch. Dixon is trying to push Gonzalez away but Gonzalez has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mr Gonzalez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Dixon dips to his left and cracks Gonzalez with an uppercut! The fighters circling - Gonzalez throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Gonzalez wants to clinch up but Dixon keeps it at a distance. Gonzalez tries to clinch but fails miserably and Dixon counters with a lovely straight right hand! Dixon closes the distance and lands a one-two.
It looks like Mr Gonzalez has been cut. Gonzalez throws a poor cross that misses
and Dixon counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Dixon slips a straight right by Gonzalez. Gonzalez is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Dixon.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gonzalez tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Dixon paws at him with a jab and circles away. Dixon throws a jab when Gonzalez was well out of range. Gonzalez misses with a wild body shot. Dixon's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Gonzalez connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Dixon scrambles back to his feet. Gonzalez tries to clinch up but Dixon circles away and keeps his distance. Gonzalez tries to clinch but Dixon moves away and Dixon counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Gonzalez fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Gonzalez lands a body shot.
Gonzalez throws a looping overhand right but Dixon ducks down to avoid it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dixon fails to land with a series of punches.
Gonzalez throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Dixon sees it coming and avoids it easily. Gonzalez is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Gonzalez misses with a left hand and Dixon connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Gonzalez moves in looking to clinch but Dixon pushes him off. Dixon scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Dixon fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dixon gets tackled into the cage by Gonzalez. Gonzalez maintains the clinch. Gonzalez lands a body punch. Dixon tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Gonzalez lands a left hand.
Dixon prevents a body shot from Gonzalez. Dixon has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Gonzalez is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mason Dixon. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dixon blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Gonzalez misses with some punches.
Gonzalez tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Dixon's elbow. Gonzalez is pressed up against the cage. Dixon has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Gonzalez down to the mat. Gonzalez avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Gonzalez darts in and clinches Dixon up against the cage. Gonzalez struggles to land a body shot inside as Dixon controls his hands.

Dixon blocks a body shot from Gonzalez. Gonzalez scores with a hook to the body. Dixon is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Dixon is trying to drag Gonzalez to the mat but Gonzalez just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Gonzalez throws a head punch that misses. Gonzalez lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Dixon.
And that's the end of the fight! Mr Gonzalez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Gonzalez has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
