Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gunnar Madsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Guntur Llaripukinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Llaripukinen is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Elvis Presley - True Love Travels On A Gravel Road. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Guntur Llaripukinen was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Gunnar Madsen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Guntur Llaripukinen! The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Tarja Halkonen and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Madsen keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
It looks like Guntur Llaripukinen has been cut. Llaripukinen throws a hook to the side of Madsen's head but Madsen sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Madsen lands a nice shot to the body.
A big right from Madsen misses. Madsen tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. A telegraphed right hand from Madsen misses the target. Madsen misses with an uppercut
and Llaripukinen counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
It looks like Gunnar Madsen has been cut. Madsen catches Llaripukinen with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Llaripukinen swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Madsen counters with a shoot takedown. Llaripukinen fights it but they end up in guard. Llaripukinen preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Madsen's corner is telling him to maintain position. Madsen content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Llaripukinen keeping full guard, as Madsen tries to pass. Llaripukinen is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Madsen postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Llaripukinen throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Madsen tries to free his leg and advance position but Llaripukinen is retaining full guard. Madsen sitting in guard here, content to control. Madsen trying to move into half guard but instead Llaripukinen has managed to sweep! Llaripukinen wants to control from the top but Madsen keeps moving. Llaripukinen won't allow Madsen to sweep him here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Madsen keeping full guard, as Llaripukinen tries to pass. Llaripukinen trying to control but Madsen is working from the bottom. Madsen wants to sweep but no luck. Madsen tries to strike from the bottom.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Madsen tries to clinch up but Llaripukinen circles away and keeps his distance. Madsen misses with a hook. Gunnar Madsen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Madsen swings widly with a right hand
and Llaripukinen counters with a nice uppercut. Llaripukinen throws a lazy uppercut
and Madsen counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Madsen misses with a double jab
and Llaripukinen counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Llaripukinen takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Llaripukinen takes a swing at Madsen's ribcage but misses. Jab, jab by Madsen - just one landing. Madsen with a body punch. A glancing blow. Madsen lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Llaripukinen tries to move into range but Madsen moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Llaripukinen looks gassed! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Madsen lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Llaripukinen at a distance.
The crowd cheers as Madsen lands an impressive looking overhand right. Llaripukinen doesn't seem phased though.
That has opened up Guntur Llaripukinen's cut even more. Llaripukinen moves away from the strike by Madsen. Madsen moves into the clinch. Madsen working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Madsen throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Madsen lands a shoulder strike.
The cut above Guntur Llaripukinen's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Madsen lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Madsen lands with a right to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Madsen unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Llaripukinen! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Madsen is unloading with more strikes now! Llaripukinen drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gunnar Madsen!
