The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reyes gets a takedown into half guard. Dayl tries to kick Reyes off but Reyes keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Reyes controlling the pace. Reyes has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Reyes looking to control and managing it successfully. Dayl is trying to stand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reyes with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Dayl wants to try and get back to his feet. Dayl looks gassed! Reyes unloading with bombs! Reyes working the ground and pound effectively.
Reyes lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Reyes raining down hammerfists from mount. Reyes has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Reyes scores with a couple of good head shots there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Reyes sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Reyes has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Dayl is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Reyes locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Dayl is forced to tap!
