The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Juan De Dios fails in his attempt to clinch.
Juan De Dios cracks the inside of Jackson's front leg.
No joy there for Jackson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Juan De Dios throws a push kick but Jackson slaps the foot to one side.
Juan De Dios shoots in but Jackson avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Juan De Dios shoots in for a takedown but Jackson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Juan De Dios doesn't manage to clinch there - Jackson circles away.
Juan De Dios closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Jackson wants to improve his position but Juan De Dios is controlling well.

Jackson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Juan De Dios manages to get himself to full guard.

Jackson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Juan De Dios swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Jackson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Jackson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jackson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Jackson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
