Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nolan Kloss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Van Rijn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Van Rijn has chosen Francesco Zappalą - No Way Out as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nolan Kloss! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mike Van Rijn! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Alexandre Firmino and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Van Rijn throws a head kick that misses and Kloss connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Kloss moves into the clinch successfully.

It looks like Nolan Kloss has been cut. Kloss lands with a short shot to the head. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Van Rijn creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Kloss's defenses. Van Rijn gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Kloss's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Kloss thows a body kick. Van Rijn tries to catch it but that hurt him. Kloss drives through with a takedown into guard. Kloss working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Kloss lands a couple of elbows. Kloss has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Kloss wants to pass the guard but Van Rijn is keeping the position. Kloss with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's one minute gone in the round. Van Rijn trying to keep a closed guard but Kloss is proving a slippery customer.
Kloss working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Kloss advances to half guard. Van Rijn regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Kloss. Kloss throws a big right hand that misses. Kloss trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Kloss looking to pass the guard. Kloss postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Van Rijn is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Kloss slips nicely into half guard. Kloss throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Van Rijn keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Kloss sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Van Rijn defending well though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Van Rijn avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Kloss. Kloss stalling. Kloss throwing shots but Van Rijn is blocking nicely. Kloss sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Van Rijn defending well though. Kloss not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Van Rijn is refusing to be controlled, as Kloss sits in half guard. Kloss seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Van Rijn can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Kloss not landing any meaningful shots this time. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Kloss connects with a nice short shot to Van Rijn's temple. Van Rijn avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Kloss. Kloss is trying for a kimura here. Van Rijn looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Kloss wins by kimura!
