The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The Last Emperor tries to close the distance and clinch but Wheeliams swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. The Last Emperor scores with a head kick.
It looks like Derown Wheeliams has been cut. The Last Emperor fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A looping hook to the body misses from The Last Emperor. Wheeliams does a little dance to reset his feet. The Last Emperor scores with a crisp jab that stopped Wheeliams in his tracks. The Last Emperor fails to land with a series of punches.
Wheeliams shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Wheeliams showed some decent athleticism there. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The Last Emperor is trying to control but can't.

Wheeliams drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and The Last Emperor dives on top into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The Last Emperor slips nicely into half guard. Wheeliams is squirming around, avoiding The Last Emperor's attempts to control the action. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. The Last Emperor is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Wheeliams is in real trouble.

The Last Emperor didn't expect that. Wheeliams drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and The Last Emperor dives on top into guard. The Last Emperor can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Wheeliams is looking to escape. You get the feeling that Wheeliams really doesn't like being in this position too much.

The Last Emperor engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Wheeliams tries to get out of the position. Wheeliams is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Wheeliams is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Wheeliams wants to improve his position but instead The Last Emperor has moved into half guard.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

The Last Emperor shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Wheeliams counters with a single leg into guard. The Last Emperor didn't expect that. The Last Emperor takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Wheeliams is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. The Last Emperor keeping full guard, as Wheeliams tries to pass.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wheeliams is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! The Last Emperor is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! The Last Emperor has escaped and now he's on top! The Last Emperor wants to control from the top but Wheeliams keeps moving. Wheeliams throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

The Last Emperor got a little sloppy there for a moment and Wheeliams has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, The Last Emperor has managed to get both his arms back between Wheeliams's legs - danger averted. The Last Emperor avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Well The Last Emperor has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality.
