Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Codi Gale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quinton Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gale's entrance music is Gravity kills - Guilty. A fine choice. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Codi Gale!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Quinton Jackson!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Donatello Bradman and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gale throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Jackson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Gale defends it nicely.
A head kick from Gale lands but Jackson takes it in his stride.


It looks like Quinton Jackson has been cut.
Gale misses with a left hand

and Jackson counters with a shoot takedown. Gale fights it but they end up in guard.
Jackson wants to control from the top but Gale keeps moving.
Jackson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Jackson looking to sit in guard and control but Gale gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Gale showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gale has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Gale wants to pass the guard but Jackson is keeping the position.
Jackson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Gale!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gale is looking to improve his position but Jackson isn't that keen on the idea.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Jackson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Gale is looking to escape.

Jackson looking for a guillotine from mount but Gale is having none of it.
Gale is working to get back to half guard.
Jackson wants to control the pace but Gale is squirming around nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Gale is trying to escape the mount.
Poor strikes thrown by Jackson there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Gale avoids a series of strikes thrown by Jackson.
Jackson throws some wild stikes that Gale manages to avoid easily.
Jackson pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Quinton Jackson will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Jackson darts in and clinches Gale up against the cage.
Gale lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Gale unloads a knee to the mid-section. Jackson lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Gale lands a damaging elbow.
Gale is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Gale creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Jackson's defenses.
Gale stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

That has opened up Quinton Jackson's cut even more.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jackson takes an elbow to the forehead.


The cut above Quinton Jackson's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Gale obliges.

Quinton Jackson's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Quinton Jackson's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Codi Gale!
