PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dick Dickerson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kur Moottaja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dick Dickerson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Roosa Järviläinen and Anni Minnemäki.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moottaja tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Dickerson paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Moottaja with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Dickerson to score with a decent uppercut.
Dickerson throws a head kick but Moottaja moves out of range.

Dickerson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Dickerson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Moottaja on the ground.

Dickerson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Dickerson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Moottaja is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Dickerson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Dickerson's back!

and Dickerson counters with a three punch combo that has Moottaja backing up. Moottaja nods at Dickerson to acknowledge the strikes.

Moottaja throws a push kick but Dickerson slaps the foot to one side.
Dickerson throws a right and a left that both miss.

and Dickerson counters with a two punch combo.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Dickerson lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Moottaja backs up against the cage.

Moottaja takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Moottaja is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Dickerson.
Dickerson throws a combination. Moottaja tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Kur Moottaja hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Moottaja rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dickerson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Dick Dickerson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Moottaja bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Moottaja has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Moottaja wants to control the pace but Dickerson is squirming around nicely.

A close second round but Kur Moottaja will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Dickerson is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Dickerson scores with a one two! Moottaja had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Moottaja jumps guard but Dickerson stands there with Moottaja around his waist. Moottaja gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Dick Dickerson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kur Moottaja.
Moottaja jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dickerson walks away with a smile on his face. Moottaja gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Moottaja is desperately trying to improve his position but Dickerson has a good base and remains in mount.

Dickerson pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Moottaja back to the cage. Dickerson follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dickerson is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Moottaja has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Dickerson is looking to defend but Moottaja has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Dickerson! Moottaja pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Dickerson taps out and this one is all over!
