Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nate Stonefield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Speedy Montog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Speedy Montog will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nate Stonefield!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Speedy Montog!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stonefield wants to clinch.
Stonefield closes the distance looking to clinch

and Montog counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Montog.
Montog wants to stand but Stonefield has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Stonefield is pulling down on Montog's head. It's preventing any offense from Montog, at least for the moment.
Stonefield controls Montog momentarily but Montog frees himself.
Stonefield tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Stonefield manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Montog manages to get himself to full guard.
Stonefield trying to control but Montog is working from the bottom.
Stonefield tries to free his leg and advance position but Montog is retaining full guard.

Stonefield drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Stonefield jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Stonefield has gone for a leg lock! Montog slips out almost immediately though and dives into Stonefield's guard.
Montog must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Stonefield is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Stonefield has Montog pulled in close to control his posture.
Stonefield wants to sweep here but Montog controlling him for the moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Stonefield is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stonefield is really struggling to control Montog but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Stonefield on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Stonefield tries to get out of the position.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Stonefield is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Stonefield trying to keep a closed guard but Montog is proving a slippery customer.
Stonefield manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Stonefield throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Stonefield trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Stonefield is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Montog to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Montog shrugs it off.
Montog tries to reverse the position but Stonefield maintains control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Montog wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Montog is looking to get to half guard.
Stonefield looking to control but Montog is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Montog tries to hold on but Stonefield postures up.

Stonefield is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Montog to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Montog shrugs it off.

Stonefield stands up from mount. Strange move.
Stonefield shoots in for a double leg but Montog sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Montog punishes Stonefield's body with a nice straight punch.
Stonefield is breathing heavily.

Montog cracks Stonefield with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Montog has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Stonefield to stand back up!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Montog wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Montog is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Stonefield hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Speedy Montog!
