Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Josh Wardermair (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Al Varun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Josh Wardermair! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Al Varun! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Aafke Stam and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wardermair is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Varun fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Varun instigates a clinch. Wardermair is trying to break the clinch but Varun is controlling him. Wardermair manages to pull guard.
Varun is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Wardermair looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Varun stopping the sweep attempt from Wardermair. Varun controls from within his opponent's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Varun stands up and waves to Wardermair to follow him. Varun shoots in for a takedown but Wardermair shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Wardermair misses with a body kick. Varun rushes Wardermair and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Wardermair taking a breather. Wardermair lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Varun lands with a short shot to the head. Varun has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Wardermair clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Varun is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Varun lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Varun.
You can see the frustration on Wardermair's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Wardermair wants to get back to his feet. Wardermair is taking damage to the body and head. Varun is hanging on to Wardermair's back as he tries to escape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Varun keeps control of the position easily here as Wardermair tries to buck him off.

Varun is looking to finish with some ground and pound! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. A bit of a pause in the action here. Varun controlling the positon. Varun has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Wardermair is breathing heavily. Varun lands with a hammerfist to the side of Wardermair's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Varun is persistently looking for the submission but Wardermair is defending it well.
Wardermair is looking to stand back up. He's having to work hard to escape but eventually he manages it. A big left from Wardermair misses. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Varun looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Wardermair tries to keep at a distance but Varun has taken the fight into the clinch. Wardermair is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Varun is keeping busy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Al Varun dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Nice uppercut there from Varun. Varun cracks the inside of Wardermair's front leg. Varun throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Wardermair was covering up waiting for the punch and Varun finishes the takedown easily into guard. Varun stands up from guard. Let's bang! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Varun shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Varun seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Varun stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wardermair slaps away a takedown attempt from Varun, before circling back to the center of the mat. Varun closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Wardermair to the mat! Wardermair manages to get full guard. Varun thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Varun looking to pass the guard. Varun controls from within his opponent's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Varun slips nicely into half guard. Wardermair has a hand on Varun's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Varun takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Varun looking to control and managing it successfully. Wardermair wants to hold on but Varun pushes him away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wardermair is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Varun with good strikes from the mount here! Varun with a couple of short strikes. Wardermair takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Varun avoids the attempt from Wardermair to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Varun tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Wardermair tries to hold on but Varun postures up. Varun is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Wardermair can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Wardermair is in a horrible position here. Varun smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Varun landing punches. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Al Varun showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Varun moves into the clinch successfully.
Varun has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Varun manages to break the clinch.
Wardermair shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Varun counters with a shoot takedown. Wardermair fights it but they end up in guard. Varun slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Wardermair is working an open guard so Varun takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Varun gets in close and instigates a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Varun content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Varun drags the fight down to the ground.
Wardermair stands up and waves to Varun to follow him. Varun darts in and clinches Wardermair up against the cage. Varun breaks the clinch.
Varun changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Wardermair looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Wardermair tries to control but Varun manages to take his back. Varun scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Wardermair is looking for a way out. Wardermair can't escape the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Varun just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Varun has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Wardermair trying to control the action but Varun just sinks the hooks in. Varun really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Wardermair. You can see the frustration on Wardermair's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Varun trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Wardermair doesn't escape. Wardermair controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position. Varun is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Wardermair. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped. Wardermair looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Varun controls the action. Wardermair is really stuck here.
Varun has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Wardermair is in real trouble here. Varun gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Wardermair is tapping out! Varun wins by rear naked choke!
