PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between James Howlett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maximus Magoo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Howlett comes to the cage accompanied by X-MEN. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howlett fails to land the takedown.
Howlett closes the distance and clinches up with Magoo, looking for a takedown. Howlett pushes Magoo against the cage but Magoo circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Magoo defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Howlett.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Magoo creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Howlett drops down looking for an ankle pick but Magoo pulls his leg out and moves away.
Magoo slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Howlett avoids a punch combination nicely.
Nice takedown defense from Magoo. No joy for Howlett on that attempt.

Howlett is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Magoo prevents the takedown attempt.
Howlett has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Magoo is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Magoo's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Howlett is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Magoo pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Howlett had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Magoo defends it easily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Howlett looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Magoo is defending well. Howlett quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Magoo has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Howlett celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
