Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Filthy McNasty! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Teddy Hartman! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Dmitry Maklakov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Some wild striking there from Hartman.
McNasty drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hartman is trying to improve his position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McNasty wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hartman, who protects the arm well. McNasty decides to stand up, so the ref orders Hartman to his feet. McNasty looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. McNasty is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. McNasty not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Hartman is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. The fighters are battling for position here. Hartman manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
That's one minute gone in the round. McNasty has gone for a leg lock! Hartman slips out almost immediately though and dives into McNasty's guard. McNasty working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hartman doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hartman manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. McNasty is breathing heavily. McNasty tries to land a sweep but no joy. Hartman tries to free his leg and advance position but McNasty is retaining full guard. Hartman connects with a couple of short punches. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McNasty wants to sweep here but Hartman controlling him for the moment. Hartman wants to control from the top but McNasty keeps moving. Hartman working some strikes from top position. Hartman wants to stand but McNasty has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Hartman slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Hartman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McNasty. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. McNasty takes a swing at Hartman's ribcage but misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hartman tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Hartman drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Hartman would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. McNasty looking for a guillotine here but Hartman defends easily.
Hartman is looking to stand up but McNasty won't let him. McNasty looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Hartman wants to control from the top but McNasty keeps moving. McNasty bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hartman's guard. McNasty seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. McNasty drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and McNasty jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McNasty pushes down on Hartman's leg and manages to get into half guard. McNasty passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Hartman! McNasty lands a big shot there that rocks Hartman but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
McNasty working away from the top, dropping strikes. Hartman tries to get back to half guard but can't. McNasty has hold of Hartman's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Hartman manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
McNasty is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Hartman is surviving well by controlling McNasty's body position as best he can. McNasty stands up from mount. Strange move. McNasty throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Hartman.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McNasty is looking to clinch. McNasty drives through and clinches with Hartman against the cage.
Hartman tries to break the clinch but McNasty is controlling the position. Come on McNasty - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Hartman wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
McNasty goes for a takedown in the clinch but Hartman prevents it.
Hartman is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Hartman changes levels and goes for a takedown here. McNasty fights it off and pushes away nicely.

McNasty looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hartman punching from the bottom.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hartman misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Hartman wants to improve his position but McNasty is controlling well.
Hartman holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Hartman has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. McNasty is working away from the top position though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Filthy McNasty dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Hartman pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A head kick misses from McNasty. Hartman looks to land a combination but McNasty avoids it well. Hartman throws a right and a left that McNasty avoids nicely. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Hartman!
Hartman closes the distance looking to clinch and McNasty counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hartman won't be happy with that. McNasty scores with punches from side control. McNasty thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. McNasty tries to advance to mount but can't. Hartman tries to get back to half guard but can't. McNasty throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Hartman is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Hartman gets back to half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hartman is staying active underneath McNasty, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Hartman pushes McNasty off looking to stand but McNasty dives back in and keeps control.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Hartman tries to clinch up and McNasty counters with a shoot takedown. Hartman fights it but they end up in guard. McNasty wants to control from the top but Hartman keeps moving. McNasty decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Hartman tries to keep at a distance but McNasty has taken the fight into the clinch. The referee calls for McNasty to work.
McNasty throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Hartman blocks it with crossed arms.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McNasty successfully pulls guard.

Hartman seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! McNasty tries to strike from the bottom.
Hartman wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of McNasty's closed guard. He's half up but McNasty has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! McNasty pivots and extends the arm, Hartman falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by McNasty! Well done that man!
