Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryan Dawson!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brewer tries to clinch but fails miserably
letting Dawson counter with a right hand.
Dawson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Brewer circles away quickly and effectively.
Dawson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Dawson wants it to stay on the feet.
Brewer throws a lazy uppercut
and Dawson counters with a three punch combo that has Brewer backing up. Brewer nods at Dawson to acknowledge the strikes.
Mitch Brewer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brewer tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Dawson counters with a two punch combo.
Dawson works over Brewer's head and body with a nice combination.


It looks like Mitch Brewer has been cut.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dawson can do anything to dispel that myth.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Brewer shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dawson as he jumps to the side.

and Brewer cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Brewer fails with the takedown.
Brewer has his takedown stuffed
and Dawson counters with a series of strikes. Brewer will be more careful next time no doubt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Mitch Brewer will probably get the nod.

Brewer shoots in looking for a takedown but Dawson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Brewer's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Brewer looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Dawson throws a nice looking combination but Brewer bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Brewer throws the kick towards the body but Dawson avoids it.

Brewer clinches up with Dawson and pushes him back against the cage.
Brewer keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Dawson's efforts to push away.
Brewer is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Dawson is defending well for now.

Brewer jumps into guard, dragging Dawson to the mat.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Brewer not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Dawson gets to his feet - Brewer follows without any prompting.
Brewer wants to clinch but Dawson slips to the side
and Dawson counters with a left and a right that stings Brewer.

Dawson throws a combination that misses

and Brewer counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Brewer seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Dawson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Brewer is trying to work for a kimura but Dawson is defending well.
Brewer looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Brewer prevents Dawson from standing back up.
