The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Roose looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Roose is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Some wild striking there from Roose.
Gameel throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Roose tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gameel swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Roose had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Gameel is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Roose Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Gameel's back instead.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Roose cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Roose isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Gameel stacks Roose on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Gameel!

Gameel drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Roose manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Gameel has Roose in his guard.
