The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fistius moves in looking to clinch but Gorkij pushes him off.
Fistius chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Gorkij can pounce on him.

Fistius is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Gorkij is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Fistius is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Gorkij knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Fistius goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Gorkij rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Fistius's guard! Nice work there by Gorkij!

Fistius shoots for a double leg takedown but Gorkij sprawls well. He's pushed Fistius's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Fistius sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Fistius misses with a takedown attempt - Gorkij sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Largius Fistius. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gorkij lands a front kick.
Fistius closes the distance and clinches up with Gorkij, looking for a takedown. Fistius pushes Gorkij against the cage but Gorkij circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Fistius is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Gorkij has managed to escape the submission attempt.
BOOM! Fistius connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Fistius breaks from Gorkij's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Gorkij is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Largius Fistius overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
