Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Strath More! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mikhail Kalashnikov! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A nice combination there by Kalashnikov.
It looks like Strath More has been cut. Kalashnikov gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows More to score an easy takedown into full guard. Kalashnikov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. More sitting in guard, not really doing much. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. More forces his way into half guard. More is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Kalashnikov has managed to free his arm - good work. Kalashnikov is looking for a sweep. More is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. More is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. More is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kalashnikov gets full guard. More trying to control the position from guard on top but Kalashnikov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kalashnikov is trying to keep More in close.
Kalashnikov is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
More distracts Kalashnikov with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. More showing good wrestling skills to control the position. More is pushing down on Kalashnikov's leg trying to pass to half guard. Kalashnikov is fighting to maintain full guard but More has managed to sneak the leg through. Kalashnikov is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. More wants to work for an arm triangle but Kalashnikov is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kalashnikov is looking for a sweep. More is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Kalashnikov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with More. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Kalashnikov trying to control here.
More is trying for a kimura here. Kalashnikov looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! More wins by kimura!
