Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Quack Smack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and BJ Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smack comes to the cage accompanied by I Believe. The crowd seem to be enjoying Silva's choice of entrance music: All Summer Long. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Quack Smack!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, BJ Silva!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Robert Twigg and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smack tries to close the distance and clinch but Silva swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Silva looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Smack is fending him off so far but Silva persists. Nope, Smack circles away and we're back to standing.
Smack feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Smack scoring with some ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silva keeping moving, preventing Smack from controlling successfully.
Silva can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Smack controls the pace.
Silva looking for a guillotine here but Smack defends easily.

Silva throws his legs up looking for a submission but Smack uses it to pass to side control.

Smack decides to stand back up. Smack steps back and let's Silva get back to his feet.

and Silva counters with a nice double leg into side control. Smack won't be happy with that.

Silva is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Smack knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Silva is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Smack has escaped the position, nice work there.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Smack tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Silva wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Silva wants to lay and pray for a moment but Smack keeps working.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smack wants to get back to his feet but Silva drags him back down.
Silva tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Smack is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Silva has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Smack tries to improve position but can't.
Silva looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Smack is avoiding damage well.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Smack.
Smack wants to clinch
and Silva counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Smack lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Silva!
Silva is trying desperately to improve position.
Silva tries to hold on but Smack pushes him away.
Silva regains half guard.
Silva gets full guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Silva slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Silva manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Silva jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Smack is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Smack and Silva has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Silva with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
Silva moves to the back position.
Well, with Silva on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Smack is tapping out... Can he escape the position?
Silva is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Smack with him. Smack is trying to defend but Silva has an arm under the chin now! Smack grimaces and is forced to tap out!
