Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fernando Araujo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Belnick Kicker! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Araujo tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Kicker closes this distance looking for a takedown but Araujo circles away. Araujo drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kicker is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Araujo's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Araujo perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Araujo wants to pass to mount but Kicker is defending the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kicker is staying active underneath Araujo, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Kicker is looking to improve his position.
Araujo controlling the action here. Araujo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kicker keeps working.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Kicker shoots and misses and Araujo counters with a takedown into side control. Araujo is looking to take a break and control but Kicker is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Araujo postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
That's one minute gone in the round. Araujo tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Araujo has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kicker throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land. Kicker being controlled for a moment. Araujo has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Kicker! Kicker can't escape the position.

Araujo is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Kicker can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Kicker manages to regain half guard. Good work. Kicker is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kicker trying to get back to full guard but Araujo takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Kicker looks gassed! Araujo trying to control but he's not successful this time. Araujo scoring with strikes but Kicker is staying in there. Araujo looking to control and managing it successfully. Araujo looking to control but Kicker is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Araujo prevents Kicker from getting the reversal. Araujo can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kicker is looking to escape. Kicker bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Kicker postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Araujo is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kicker, into his guard. Araujo is pushing down on Kicker's leg trying to pass to half guard. Kicker is fighting to maintain full guard but Araujo has managed to sneak the leg through. Araujo is looking to take a break and control but Kicker is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Araujo is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Kicker has managed to free his arm - good work. Araujo wants to take a breather but Kicker is having none of it. Kicker tries to roll over but Araujo keeps him under control. Araujo is looking for a kimura here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Kicker is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Araujo pulls his head out easily. Araujo lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Araujo looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Araujo is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Araujo is trying to control the action in half guard but Kicker is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Araujo tries to pass to full mount but Kicker defends it. Araujo works his way into side control. Araujo wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kicker, who protects the arm well. Kicker sneaks back into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kicker swats away the attempt to clinch by Araujo. Belnick Kicker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Araujo looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Kicker has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Araujo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Araujo scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Kicker looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Araujo wants to get up but he can't break Kicker's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Kicker had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Araujo is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Kicker Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Araujo's back instead. Araujo breaks Kicker's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Kicker wants to sweep here but Araujo controlling him for the moment. Araujo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kicker throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Fernando Araujo overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kicker looking to hit a scissor sweep but Araujo is one step ahead there. Kicker lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Araujo! Kicker stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Araujo rushes Kicker and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Kicker decides to pull guard. Kicker manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Araujo wants to hold on but Kicker pushes him away. Araujo is wriggling around trying to escape.
Kicker working for a submission but Araujo is keeping him at bay. Araujo wants to control but Kicker is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Araujo is trying desperately to improve position. Araujo wants to control but Kicker is having none of it. Kicker working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Kicker is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Araujo has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Kicker avoids the attempt from Araujo to control. Kicker seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Araujo is holding on tight.
Kicker goes for an armbar but Araujo turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Araujo. Araujo trying to control but Kicker is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kicker looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Kicker is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Kicker working for a triangle but Araujo defends it easily.
Araujo pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kicker is keeping the position for now. Araujo won't allow Kicker to sweep him here. Araujo avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Araujo loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Kicker is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Kicker keeping moving, preventing Araujo from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kicker looking for a sweep. Not yet Kicker, not yet. Araujo trying to control the position from guard on top but Kicker is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kicker escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Araujo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Araujo trying to control but Kicker is working from the bottom. Kicker manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Araujo manages to get himself to full guard.
Kicker works a leg free and moves into half guard. Kicker is working for a kimura but Araujo is defending it quite comfortably.
Kicker is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kicker is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Belnick Kicker showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Araujo drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Araujo won't allow Kicker to sweep him here. Kicker working for a triangle but Araujo defends it easily.
Araujo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Araujo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Araujo tries to free his leg and advance position but Kicker is retaining full guard. Kicker is looking for a triangle but Araujo pushes his legs off easily.

Both fighters are breathing heavily. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Kicker bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Araujo's guard.

Araujo is looking to work some ground and pound but Kicker has wrist control. Kicker looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Araujo passes into side control.
Kicker tries to improve position but can't. The ground and pound from Araujo seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Kicker is looking to regain half guard here but Araujo keeps moving and retains side control. Araujo is looking to take a break and control but Kicker is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Kicker is looking for a sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Kicker needs to keep his hands up - Araujo had a free shot at his head there. Araujo buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Araujo scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Araujo is looking to clinch but Kicker is avoiding it.
Kicker closes this distance looking for a takedown but Araujo circles away. Araujo drives through with a takedown into guard. Araujo pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kicker is keeping the position for now. Kicker is looking for a triangle but Araujo pushes his legs off easily.
Araujo has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Kicker to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Araujo is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Kicker pulls down on the head and he's put Araujo to sleep! This one is all over!
