Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kazushi Yamazaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ken Severn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Severn has chosen Ja volim vatat muve as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kazushi Yamazaki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Ken Severn!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Yamazaki finds it's way through Severn's defenses.
Severn misses with a combination
and Yamazaki counters with a head kick. That will keep Severn thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Severn dips to his left and cracks Yamazaki with an uppercut!
Severn throws a lazy uppercut

and Yamazaki holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Severn digs a right hand into Yamazaki's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Yamazaki's gas tank.

Yamazaki's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kazushi Yamazaki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Yamazaki wants to clinch up but Severn keeps it at a distance.
Yamazaki is looking to clinch.
Severn lands with a hook. Yamazaki tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Yamazaki rushes Severn and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Severn can't find room to land a body shot as Yamazaki controls the action.
Severn tries for a takedown. No joy.
A frustrated look appears on Yamazaki's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Severn drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Severn slowing the pace effectively.
Yamazaki prevents Severn from breaking the clinch.
Yamazaki tries to break free but Severn pushes him back against the cage.
Severn tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
A hook to the body from Yamazaki.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Severn breaks the clinch.
Yamazaki scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Yamazaki throws a wild body kick that Severn sees coming a mile off.
Yamazaki takes a swing at Severn's ribcage but misses.
Yamazaki doesn't manage to clinch there - Severn circles away.
Yamazaki throws a sloppy head kick

and Severn counters with a shoot takedown. Yamazaki fights it but they end up in guard.

Severn drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Severn jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Yamazaki on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Yamazaki tries to get out of the position.
Yamazaki keeping moving, preventing Severn from controlling successfully.

Severn is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Severn missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Severn loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Yamazaki keeping moving, preventing Severn from controlling successfully.
Severn won't allow Yamazaki to get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Severn pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Yamazaki is keeping the position for now.
Yamazaki trying to keep a closed guard but Severn is proving a slippery customer.
Severn working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Severn tries to stand but Yamazaki is controlling from the bottom.
Severn stands and throws Yamazaki's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Severn throws a strike aimed at the side of Yamazaki's head but Yamazaki avoids it well.
Severn prevents Yamazaki from escaping the position.

Severn tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Severn working the head with strikes.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Yamazaki is pushing Severn's head away, looking to escape. Severn manages to hold on to the position though.

Severn has hold of Yamazaki's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Yamazaki seems comfortable defending it but Severn has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Yamazaki is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Yamazaki is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Severn couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Ken Severn!
