Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Firestone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kim Hoo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mark Firestone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kim Hoo!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Hirohito Nitta and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoo tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hoo looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Hoo forces Firestone back against the cage and clinches.
Firestone wants to break free but Hoo has control.
Hoo can't break the clinch.
Firestone is pressed up against the cage. Hoo has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Firestone down to the mat. Firestone avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Firestone throws a head kick that misses.

Firestone darts in and clinches Hoo up against the cage.
Firestone is working for takedown but Hoo is calmly controlling the position for now.
Firestone wants to stall.
Firestone prevents a takedown attempt there.
Firestone is trying to break the clinch but Hoo has him pressed against the cage.

Firestone manages to break the clinch.
Firestone throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Firestone tries to clinch but Hoo is having none of it.
Hoo throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Hoo looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Firestone is fending him off so far but Hoo persists. Nope, Firestone circles away and we're back to standing.
Mark Firestone has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kim Hoo.
A head kick misses from Firestone.
Kim Hoo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Firestone gets the takedown into side control.
Firestone wants to control but Hoo is keeping him busy.
Hoo tries to escape but Firestone is in control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hoo tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Firestone slows the pace down.
Hoo tries to bench press Firestone off him but Firestone keeps the position.
Hoo looks gassed!
Hoo is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Firestone has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Hoo managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Firestone.
Hoo can't do much from the bottom here.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Firestone moves into the clinch successfully.

Firestone breaks from the clinch.

Firestone rushes Hoo and presses him up against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hoo tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Firestone just stands there and leans against the cage.
Hoo can't get the takedown.
Hoo drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Firestone gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Firestone escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Firestone defending well as Hoo loads up on a big left hand.
Firestone misses with a takedown

and Hoo counters by moving into the clinch.

Hoo breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Hoo gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Firestone jumps guard but Hoo stands there with Firestone around his waist. Firestone gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Hoo breaks the clinch.
Hoo fails to land the takedown.
Firestone has a takedown stuffed.
Hoo throws a nice looking combination but Firestone bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
The fight stays on the outside here - Firestone looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Hoo tries to clinch but Firestone moves away

and Firestone counters by moving into the clinch.
Hoo keeps control of Firestone as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Hoo escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Hoo shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Firestone's guard.
Hoo is looking to stand up but Firestone won't let him.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Firestone working for submissions but it's allowed Hoo to get to half guard.
Firestone won't allow Hoo to pass to mount.
Hoo trying to control from Firestone's half guard. Firestone has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Hoo tries to free his leg and advance position but Firestone is retaining full guard.
Firestone is controlling Hoo's posture.

Firestone looking for a guillotine here but Hoo defends easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Firestone throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Firestone is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hoo would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Hoo loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Mark Firestone will probably get the nod.
That's time! Firestone's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Firestone looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Hoo wants to get back to full guard.
Firestone has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Firestone pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
BOOM! Firestone connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Hoo is breathing heavily.
Firestone putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Hoo tries to hold on but Firestone pushes him away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Firestone landing strikes from the mount.
Hoo tries to lock up and control but Firestone gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Firestone working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Hoo tries to reverse the position but Firestone maintains control.
Hoo is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Hoo tries to buck Firestone off but he can't manage it.
Hoo is looking to get to half guard.
Hoo is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hoo slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Firestone wants to take a breather but Hoo is having none of it.
Hoo is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Hoo is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Firestone's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Firestone's back!
Firestone is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Hoo.
Firestone covers up after that shot from Hoo.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Firestone is keeping busy.
Firestone trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.

Firestone preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Hoo.
Hoo is trying to stick to Firestone's back but Firestone is turning into Hoo. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Hoo's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Firestone.
Hoo bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Firestone's guard.
Hoo must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Firestone thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hoo content to stall in guard here.
Firestone is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Hoo moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Hoo wants to stand and escape but Firestone is having none of it.
Firestone throwing strikes but missing.
Hoo working a defensive guard here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Firestone dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Firestone cracks Hoo with an open hand slap.

Firestone shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Firestone working for a submission but Hoo is keeping him at bay.
Firestone tries to control but Hoo wriggling away.
Hoo wants to get back to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Firestone is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Hoo can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Firestone lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Hoo hang on?


Hoo is rocked!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hoo takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Hoo is still in real trouble! Can Firestone finish him?
Firestone is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Hoo can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Firestone can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hoo is looking to escape.
Firestone prevents Hoo from getting the reversal.
Hoo seems to have recovered his senses.
Hoo sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Hoo missing with punches from the bottom.
Firestone has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Hoo has one foot on Firestone's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Firestone swinging wilding here.

Hoo shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Firestone regains half guard.
Firestone moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Hoo looking to pass the guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Firestone is on top in guard.
Firestone pushing down on Hoo's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hoo is looking to escape.

Hoo pushes Firestone off and gets back to his feet.
Hoo looks to throw the jab but Firestone is out of range.
Firestone lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
A big right followed by a crushing left from Hoo knocks Firestone out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:32 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Kim Hoo!
