Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Knox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joshua Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Knox! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joshua Jones! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, John Roberts and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck for Knox with that takedown attempt. Knox shoots in but no luck this time. Knox stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Knox wants it to stay on the feet. Jones wants to clinch and Knox counters by clinching up. Knox has Jones pressed against the cage, preventing Jones from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Knox pulls guard successfully.
Jones stops Knox from standing up. Knox has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Knox is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Knox trying to control the position here. Knox knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jones on the ground.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Knox shoots in for a double leg but Jones sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Knox. That's going to take a lot out of him. Knox throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Jones wants to clinch and Knox counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Jones is lucky that one didn't land flush.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Knox shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jones pinned against the cage. Jones gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Knox is breathing heavily. Horrible takedown by Jones or perhaps it was just good defense by Knox which made him look bad. Jones throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Jones throws a leg kick but Knox sees it coming and checks it nicely. Jones misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Knox looks to score with a jab to the body but Jones is just out of range. Joshua Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Knox changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jones tries to avoid it but Knox manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jones to the ground. Jones escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Jones closes the distance but Knox moves to the side and Knox counters by clinching up. Jones has had enough of the clinch but Knox keeps him there for the moment. Knox tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jones smiles and moves away.
Knox keeps the fight on the outside. Jones looks to clinch and Knox counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Knox fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Jones goes for a takedown attempt but Knox pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones tries to clinch but Knox moves away and Knox counters with a left and a right that stings Jones. Knox slaps away a takedown attempt from Jones, before circling back to the center of the mat. Knox leaves Jones with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Jones lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Jones lands a head shot. Jones thuds his right hand into Knox's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Jones looks to land a body kick but Knox moved away. Jones shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Knox defends it nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mike Knox dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Knox breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Jones will be more careful next time no doubt. Jones wants to clinch but Knox slips to the side and Knox counters by clinching up. Knox ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Knox no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Jones should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Jones wants to control from the top but Knox keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones wanted to stand there but Knox had control of the position. Knox keeping full guard, as Jones tries to pass. Jones wants to control from the top but Knox keeps moving. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones advances to half guard. Knox wants to get back to full guard. Knox holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Jones wants to take a breather but Knox is having none of it. Jones is looking to advance position but Knox won't allow it.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Jones darts in trying to clinch and Knox counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Knox. Knox pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Jones has a takedown stuffed. Jones throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Knox throws a sloppy head kick and Jones moves out of range easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

He shot from a bit too far out. Mike Knox is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Mike Knox has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joshua Jones. No luck with that takedown attempt from Jones. Knox fails with a takedown attempt. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Jones fails with a takedown attempt.
And that's the end of the fight! Mike Knox showed his dominance in that final round. Well Knox has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
