Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lewis Wood! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sergei Kravelski! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Paulsen Ambrosius and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wood shoots in and bounces Kravelski off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Wood missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Wood avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Wood is fighting to break Kravelski's control of his arms but Kravelski is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Wood missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Kravelski throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Wood because Kravelski loaded up on that one. Wood on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Wood tries to get out of the position. Kravelski trying to control but he's not successful this time. Kravelski throwing strikes here but Wood is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kravelski lands a big shot there that rocks Wood but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wood tries to hold on but Kravelski postures up. Kravelski thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Kravelski prevents Wood from getting the reversal. Wood is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Kravelski looking to ground and pound but Wood is blocking nicely. Kravelski tries to control but Wood wriggling away. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Kravelski cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Sergei Kravelski dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Kravelski shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. and Wood counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Kravelski keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Kravelski keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Wood is looking to take a break and control but Kravelski is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Kravelski has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Wood thows a huge punch but Kravelski dodges it nicely.
Kravelski is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Wood's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Wood's back! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kravelski is riding his opponent, not letting Wood buck him off. Kravelski throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.

Wood tries to lock up and control but Kravelski gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Kravelski controlling the pace for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wood blocking the ground and pound. Kravelski is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Wood has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Wood! Wood with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Kravelski not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Kravelski wants to get back to his feet but Wood is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Kravelski is breathing heavily. Wood trying to control the position from guard on top but Kravelski is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Wood working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Wood has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Wood thows a big elbow that misses. Kravelski trying to strike off his back.
Wood got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kravelski has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Wood has managed to get both his arms back between Kravelski's legs - danger averted. Wood wants to control from the top but Kravelski keeps moving. Wood lands a couple of decent looking shots. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lewis Wood dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Wood shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Kravelski is trying to defend but Wood finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Sergei Kravelski has got the better of the ground game so far. Kravelski is doing well to control the position and prevent Wood from advancing to side control. Wood wants to take a breather but Kravelski is having none of it. Kravelski tries to get to full guard but Wood has control of the leg. Wood thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kravelski's head. Wood throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Kravelski takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Kravelski looking for submissions off his back. Kravelski is looking to escape. Wood knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kravelski on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wood seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kravelski does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Kravelski is trying to maintain the position but Wood is very close to passing his half guard. Wood wants to pass to mount but Kravelski is defending the position. Wood is looking to take a break and control but Kravelski is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Kravelski tries to kick Wood off but Wood keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Nice strikes from Wood there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Nice strikes from Wood there. Kravelski trying to hold on to Wood's head to control him but Wood postures up.
Wood scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Wood is nestled in close to Kravelski, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Kravelski has hold of Wood's hands but Wood slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Wood takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Wood drops an elbow to the side of Kravelski's head. Kravelski trying to control from the bottom.
Wood is looking to advance position but Kravelski won't allow it. Wood looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kravelski with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Kravelski is staying active underneath Wood, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Wood passes the guard and advances to mount! Kravelski is bucking up trying to escape but Wood cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Kravelski is wriggling around trying to escape.
And that's the end of the fight! Lewis Wood showed his dominance in that final round. Well Wood has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
