The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kingsley lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
It looks like Jason Monson has been cut.
A chopping leg kick lands by Kingsley.
Kyle Kingsley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kingsley lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Kingsley fakes the leg kick and cracks Monson in the body.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Kingsley, right into the meat.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A slapping leg kick lands for Kingsley.
Monson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Kingsley wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Monson tries for a kimura but Kingsley is defending well.
Monson looks gassed!
Kingsley regains half guard, as Monson was trying to land strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Kingsley is trying to stand up here but Monson is controlling him well.
Kingsley has one foot on Monson's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Kingsley throws a sloppy head kick and Monson moves out of range easily.
Kingsley scores with a spinning back kick!
A head kick from Kingsley lands but Monson takes it in his stride.
Kingsley lands a high kick!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kingsley tests Monson's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Kingsley goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
That has opened up Jason Monson's cut even more.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Monson.
Monson misses with a takedown attempt
and Kingsley holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Monson goes for a takedown attempt but Kingsley pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Kyle Kingsley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jason Monson.
Kingsley lands with a thumping leg kick.
Kingsley rushes Monson and presses him up against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Monson is working for takedown but Kingsley is calmly controlling the position for now.
Kingsley breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Kingsley throws a head kick but Monson moves out of range.
Kingsley lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Kingsley looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Kingsley backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Monson's temple! It sends Monson violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Kingsley celebrates and the doctors try to help Monson!
