Vantinnen comes to the cage accompanied by Pantera-"Walk". Mikko Vantinnen could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Hans Stringer's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mikko Vantinnen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Hans Stringer! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Paulsen Ambrosius and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stringer shoots in and drives through. Vantinnen sprawls well. Stringer with a lazy takedown attempt and Vantinnen counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
It looks like Hans Stringer has been cut. Vantinnen gets a clinch. Stringer wants to get back to striking at distance but Vantinnen won't allow it.
Vantinnen unloads a knee to the mid-section. Stringer lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Vantinnen looks to throw an elbow but misses. Vantinnen prevents the takedown attempt.
Mikko Vantinnen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hans Stringer. Stringer looks gassed! Stringer goes for a takedown in the clinch but Vantinnen prevents it.

Vantinnen keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Stringer's efforts to push away. Vantinnen pushes off an throws an elbow but Stringer leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Vantinnen tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Stringer pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Vantinnen doesn't manage to clinch there - Stringer circles away.
Vantinnen fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Stringer has his takedown stuffed and Vantinnen counters into the clinch. Nicely done. This has been an exciting period of action! Vantinnen with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vantinnen misses with a hook from the clinch. A nice right hand lands inside from Vantinnen. Vantinnen tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Stringer avoids it. Vantinnen's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Vantinnen with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Stringer wants a takedown but no success here.

Vantinnen would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Stringer wants to stand up but Vantinnen is controlling him. Stringer will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Mikko Vantinnen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vantinnen is looking to clinch. Stringer gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Vantinnen counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Vantinnen. Stringer managing to block the knees to the body from Vantinnen.
Vantinnen tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Vantinnen is pressed up against the cage. Stringer has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Vantinnen down to the mat. Vantinnen avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Vantinnen darts in trying to clinch and Stringer counters with a nice double leg into side control. Vantinnen won't be happy with that. Stringer scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Vantinnen to see if he's OK. Vantinnen is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Stringer is controlling him well. Stringer is working to tighten is grip on Vantinnen's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Vantinnen has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Stringer is really squeezing tight and eventually Vantinnen passes out! Stringer breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
