Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Michaels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daisu Miyagi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Michaels comes into the arena with MC Hammer - Hammer Time blaring out of the sound system. Daisu Miyagi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Michaels!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daisu Miyagi!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice inside leg kick there by Miyagi. That's going to slow Michaels down.
Michaels fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Miyagi throws a sloppy head kick and Michaels moves out of range easily.
Michaels shoots in for a double leg but Miyagi sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Nice sprawl there from Miyagi as Michaels shoots in.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Michaels. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Michaels closes this distance looking for a takedown but Miyagi circles away.

Miyagi is working for a kimura but Michaels is defending it quite comfortably.
Michaels seems to have got his legs back now.
Miyagi thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Michaels's head.

Michaels flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Miyagi wants to pass the guard but Michaels is defending well.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Miyagi lands a nice short elbow.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Miyagi counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Michaels gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Miyagi counters with a nice low kick that buckles Michaels's knee momentarily.

Michaels takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Miyagi goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Michaels has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Miyagi but great work by Michaels.

Miyagi is working Michaels over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Michaels bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Miyagi's guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Miyagi.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Michaels. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Michaels is pushing Miyagi's head away, looking to escape. Miyagi manages to hold on to the position though.
You can see the frustration on Michaels's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Michaels gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Miyagi is nestled in close to Michaels, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Miyagi drops back, looking for a kneebar! Michaels looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Michaels looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Michaels!
Miyagi takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Michaels creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Miyagi sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

A close second round but Daisu Miyagi will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!



Michaels shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Miyagi's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Miyagi has his feet on Michaels's thighs here. He's pushed Michaels off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Michaels screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
