Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Jolley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Al Pratt! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pratt punishes Jolley's body with a nice straight punch. Pratt scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Jolley doesn't seem bothered though. Pratt throws a body punch but Jolley moves out of range. Pratt stalks Jolley and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Jolley's face. Jolley staggers backwards, shaken.
It looks like James Jolley has been cut. Pratt scores with a hook to the body. Jolley takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Pratt misses with a series of wild punches.
Jolley tries for a takedown but Pratt sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Al Pratt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pratt scores with a nice right hand.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Pratt swings and misses with a hook to the body.
No joy there for Pratt, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Pratt moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Jolley closes this distance looking for a takedown but Pratt circles away. Pratt throws a poor cross that misses
and Jolley counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Pratt's guard now. Jolley thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Jolley is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pratt wants to get back to his feet but Jolley is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jolley works a leg free and moves into half guard. Pratt trying to control from the bottom.
Jolley is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Pratt sees it coming and defends easily. Jolley is working for a kimura but Pratt is defending it quite comfortably.
Jolley seems to be looking for submissions.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pratt can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Jolley is working for a submission of some sort.
Jolley is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Pratt to slip a leg under and get back to full guard. Pratt is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jolley is controlling him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jolley trying to control the position from guard on top but Pratt is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jolley trying to move into half guard but instead Pratt has managed to sweep! Pratt is looking to stand up but Jolley won't let him. Jolley lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Pratt! Jolley thowing shots but they're missing. Jolley jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Pratt manages to avoid the submission attempt. Jolley will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Jolley wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Pratt, who protects the arm well.

Al Pratt dominated that round. The cut man is working on James Jolley's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Jolley counters with a shoot takedown. Pratt fights it but they end up in guard. Pratt is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jolley is controlling him. Jolley drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jolley jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Pratt really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jolley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Jolley drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Jolley as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Pratt screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Jolley! Nice submission victory there!
