Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jesse Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gavin Gagnon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Parker's entrance music is Science vs. Romance. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jesse Parker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Gavin Gagnon! The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Aleksandr Martynov and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Parker keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Parker scores with a hook. Jesse Parker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Parker tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Gagnon closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. You can see the frustration on Parker's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Parker takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Parker is looking for a sweep. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Parker gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Parker is looking to improve his position.
Parker has a hand on Gagnon's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Gagnon takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Parker tries to hold on but Gagnon postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Parker is squirming around, avoiding Gagnon's attempts to control the action. Gagnon prevents Parker from getting the reversal. Gagnon trying to control but he's not successful this time. Parker is desperately trying to improve his position but Gagnon has a good base and remains in mount. Parker wants to control but Gagnon is having none of it. Parker is wriggling around trying to escape.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Gagnon tries to control but Parker wriggling away. Gagnon with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Parker reaches up and holds on to Gagnon to control the position. Gagnon prevents Parker from getting the reversal.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gagnon wants to control the pace but Parker is squirming around nicely. Parker tries to improve his position but instead Gagnon has taken his back! Parker turns into Gagnon and is now in his guard.
Parker lands a couple of elbows. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Parker's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Gagnon has his foot on Parker's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Parker works his way back into a safe position though. Gagnon looking for a guillotine here but Parker defends easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Parker works his way into side control. Gagnon is looking to reverse the position. Parker lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Gagnon down.
Gagnon sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Parker slips a nice elbow through Gagnon's hands, connecting with Gagnon's forehead. Parker looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Parker content to control rather than advance. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gavin Gagnon dominated that round. That's time! Parker's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Nice straight punches there by Parker. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Parker. Gagnon drops his hands momentarily and Parker takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Parker tries to clinch there but Gagnon circles away.
Parker lands a head shot. Gagnon throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Parker wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Gagnon gets cracked there but stands up to it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Parker, as that shot connected.
Gagnon moves away from the strike by Parker. Gagnon uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Parker. Gagnon shoots for a takedown but Parker saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Parker misses with a hook. Gagnon ducked under it nicely. Parker throws a sloppy body shot
and Gagnon connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Parker avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Parker throws a shot to the body.
Gagnon bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. A cross from Parker lands. Parker lands a lovely overhand right. Parker scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Parker cracks Gagnon with an open hand slap. Parker lands with a cross. Gagnon fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Parker manages to avoid it. Parker is looking to clinch. Parker closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Gagnon quickly recovers to half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Gagnon manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Parker lands a couple of decent looking shots. Parker trying to control the position from guard on top but Gagnon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gagnon is striking but Parker is not phased and passes to half guard. Parker wants to take a breather but Gagnon is having none of it. Parker is pressing down on Gagnon's thigh, looking to free his foot. Gagnon is holding on for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Parker is keen to just control but Gagnon is a slippery customer. Parker looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Gagnon won't allow Parker to pass to mount. Parker is controlling the pace.

Parker wants to take a breather but Gagnon is having none of it. Parker uses his free foot to push down on Gagnon's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Gagnon. Gagnon taking shots to the head. Gagnon working to try and regain half guard.

Parker looking to finish Gagnon with some ground and pound. This is bad for Gagnon! Parker lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Gagnon hang on? Gagnon wants to control but Parker is having none of it. Parker postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Gagnon looks a forlorn figure.

He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Gagnon wants to hold on but Parker pushes him away. Parker raining down hammerfists from mount. He's pushed Gagnon's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Gagnon displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Parker throws out the jab. Parker lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Jesse Parker overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Parker sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Gagnon's guard. Well, if Parker is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Parker seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gagnon does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Parker is taking a breather. Gagnon says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Parker is keen to just control but Gagnon is a slippery customer. Gagnon tries to get to full guard but Parker has control of the leg. Parker content to control rather than advance.
Jesse Parker has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Parker connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Parker connects with a body shot that sends Gagnon's belly button to the back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Parker paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Parker fails in his attempt to clinch. Parker throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Gagnon throws a leg kick that misses. Gagnon takes a swing at Parker's ribcage but misses. Parker looks to score with a jab to the body but Gagnon is just out of range. Parker throws a predictable looking body shot
and Gagnon counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Parker wants to improve his position but Gagnon is controlling well.
Gagnon is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Parker doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gagnon. Parker wants to improve his position but Gagnon is controlling well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gagnon tries to pass the half guard into mount. Parker knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Parker gets back to full guard.
Parker wants to sweep here but Gagnon controlling him for the moment.
And that's the end of the fight! Jesse Parker showed his dominance in that final round. Well Parker has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
