Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Helio Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and DJ Early (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Early is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Trivium - Kirisute Gomen. Helio Gracie could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to DJ Early's chin.

The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and George Francis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Early tries to clinch up.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Early as he jumps to the side.
Early throws a looping overhand right but Gracie ducks down to avoid it.
DJ Early seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gracie uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Early.
Early throws a sloppy head kick and Gracie moves out of range easily.
Early tries a head kick but it misses.
Early tries to clinch but Gracie moves out of range.
Gracie blocks a head kick by Early.

Gracie scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Early can't do much from the bottom here.

Gracie thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Early is trying to get back to half guard.

Gracie tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Early is pushing Gracie's head away, looking to escape. Gracie manages to hold on to the position though.

Early wants to control but Gracie postures up.

Early is controlling an arm, preventing Gracie from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Early is looking to improve his position but Gracie isn't that keen on the idea.

Gracie manages to capitalize on a mistake by Early to take his back!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Early is trying escape back to his feet. He turns into his opponent's guard and eventually finds his way back to his feet.
Early throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Early tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gracie swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Early but Early pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Gracie is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Gracie is breathing heavily.

Early is trying to stand up here but Gracie is controlling him well.
Early is pressing down on Gracie's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Early is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Gracie slips nicely into half guard.
Early moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Early is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Gracie wants to control from the top but Early keeps moving.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Early escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gracie gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Gracie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Early swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Gracie is working hard here to advance position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gracie stands and throws Early's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Early bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Early keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Helio Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Early throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Early wants to control but Gracie is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Early has his foot on Gracie's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gracie works his way back into a safe position though.

Gracie drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Gracie as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Early screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Gracie! Nice submission victory there!
