Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Gunner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rafeal Da Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Thomas Gunner has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Thomas Gunner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rafeal Da Silva! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Daniel Blasius and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Decent striking displayed by Gunner there. Gunner throws a head kick that misses. Thomas Gunner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Da Silva missing with a left hand there. Gunner was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Da Silva fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Gunner, pushing him back against the cage. Gunner pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Gunner misses with a low kick.

Gunner scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Gunner looks to land a combination. Da Silva sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Da Silva closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Da Silva lands in his opponent's guard. Da Silva's corner is telling him to maintain position. Gunner is working an open guard so Da Silva takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Da Silva drives through with a takedown into guard. Da Silva advances position into side control! Gunner tries to improve position but can't. Da Silva stands up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Da Silva checks a low kick from Gunner. Gunner avoids a kick to the body.
Gunner lands an overhand right. Gunner throws a head kick but Da Silva moves out of range.
Gunner goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Da Silva looks for a takedown but Gunner sprawls well. Da Silva drops his hands momentarily and Gunner takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Gunner bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Da Silva's head. Gunner is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Da Silva gets a takedown into half guard. Da Silva looks gassed! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Da Silva wants to pass to mount but Gunner is defending the position. Gunner avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Da Silva.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Gunner scores with a one two! Da Silva had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Gunner scores with a push kick. Gunner throws a quick inside leg kick. Gunner throws a head kick that Da Silva semi-blocks.
A head kick misses from Gunner. Gunner lands with a nice body punch. Gunner moves into range and clinches up with Da Silva. This has been an exciting period of action! Gunner lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Gunner sizes up Da Silva with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Gunner chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Gunner lands with a slapping head kick. Da Silva chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Gunner can pounce on him.
Horrible takedown by Da Silva or perhaps it was just good defense by Gunner which made him look bad.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Da Silva has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Gunner. Gunner is looking to clinch but Da Silva is avoiding it.

Gunner thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Da Silva if he has to take too many more of those.
Gunner lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. A decent looking body kick lands there for Gunner. Gunner is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Gunner works Da Silva's body with a nice hook. Gunner delivers a nice body kick. Gunner tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Da Silva takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Gunner lands a head kick!
Gunner lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Da Silva fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Thomas Gunner dominated that round. That's time! Gunner's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Gunner bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Gunner tries to work over Da Silva's front leg with a kick but Da Silva checks it. Gunner lands a head kick. Da Silva smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Gunner listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Jab from Gunner. Da Silva tries to move into range but Gunner moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Da Silva shoots for a takedown but Gunner saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Da Silva tries to clinch but Gunner moves out of range. Gunner connects with a body shot. Gunner throws a leg kick which misses Da Silva's front leg but catches the back leg as Da Silva tries to avoid it. Gunner lands with an uppercut that bounces Da Silva off the cage and back into rage. Gunner scores with a head kick. Da Silva tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Gunner, as that shot connected.
Gunner throws a quick inside leg kick. Gunner lands a head kick. Da Silva smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Da Silva takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Thomas Gunner is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gunner clinches. Gunner escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Da Silva crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Gunner - the referee stops the clock and Da Silva gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Gunner. Da Silva manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Gunner throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Gunner jabs Da Silva right on the nose. Da Silva blinks but takes it well. Da Silva stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Gunner. Gunner throws a head kick that misses. Da Silva has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Gunner. Gunner throws a quick inside leg kick. Gunner throws a head kick that misses. Gunner throws a front kick that sends Da Silva stumbling back into the cage. Gunner takes a swing at Da Silva's ribcage but misses. Gunner misses with a low kick.

Gunner keeps the fight on the outside. Gunner pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Da Silva's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gunner throws a leg kick but Da Silva sees it coming and moves out of range. Da Silva takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Gunner misses with a body kick. Thomas Gunner is winning the standup battle so far. Da Silva throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Gunner delivers a nice body kick. Da Silva on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Da Silva blocks a head kick by Gunner.
A punch combination from Da Silva misses. Nice body punch from Gunner. Da Silva scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Gunner is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Da Silva has just dragged him back down to the mat. Da Silva takes a little break here. Gunner wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Gunner tries to buck Da Silva off but Da Silva is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Da Silva working away. Da Silva advances nicely into full mount. Gunner is trying desperately to improve position. Gunner tries to improve his position but instead Da Silva has taken his back! Da Silva lands an elbow to the side of the head. Gunner tries to escape the position.
Da Silva is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Da Silva is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Gunner defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. I really don't envy Gunner right now.

Da Silva gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Da Silva gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Da Silva apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Da Silva takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Da Silva stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Gunner. Gunner throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Crunch! Gunner slams his shin into Da Silva's torso. Da Silva throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Gunner throws a head kick that Da Silva semi-blocks.

Gunner tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Da Silva manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Da Silva rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gunner moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Gunner lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Gunner fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Da Silva, pushing him back against the cage. Da Silva tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Gunner smiles and moves away.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Da Silva fails with an attempt to clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Gunner looking for a sweep but Da Silva has passed into full mount! Oh no! Da Silva looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Gunner defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Da Silva. Da Silva controlling the position easily from mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Da Silva misses with a head shot. Gunner can't escape the position.
Gunner is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Rafeal Da Silva has got the better of the ground game so far. Gunner is desperately trying to improve his position but Da Silva has a good base and remains in mount. Gunner has worked his way to half guard, taking advantage of Da Silva's lack of action.
Da Silva wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gunner keeps working. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Da Silva seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Rafeal Da Silva hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Gunner cracks the inside of Da Silva's front leg. Gunner tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Gunner plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Da Silva has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye. A decent looking body kick lands there for Gunner. A lazy left from Gunner finds it's target. A thudding body kick lands there by Gunner!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Gunner lands with a nice combination. Da Silva backs away looking to recover. Gunner buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Rafeal Da Silva has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Thomas Gunner is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Gunner throws a nice outside leg kick.
And that's the end of the fight! Thomas Gunner showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gunner, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
