Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Still (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Vaughn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Vaughn's choice of entrance music: Wild Thing. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matt Still! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rick Vaughn! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Columbo Gatti and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice cross by Vaughn. Still doesn't manage to clinch there - Vaughn circles away.
Still jabs Vaughn to the body, keeping him at a distance. Still shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Vaughn's guard. Still drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Still jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Still won't allow Vaughn to get back to his feet. Still scoring with punches to the head and body. Vaughn preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Still wants to control from the top but Vaughn keeps moving. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Vaughn can do anything to dispel that myth. Still loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Still landing some decent shots from guard. Vaughn is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Vaughn utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Still lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Still engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Still is pushing down on Vaughn's leg trying to pass to half guard. Vaughn is fighting to maintain full guard but Still has managed to sneak the leg through. Still thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Vaughn's head. Vaughn avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Still. Still drops an elbow to the side of Vaughn's head. Still missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Vaughn looks like he's trying to stand up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Vaughn taking some punishment here, with Still in his half guard. Vaughn is looking to escape. Vaughn really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Still. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Vaughn looks gassed!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Still connects with a nice short shot to Vaughn's temple. Vaughn is trying to stand.

Still scores with a couple of good hammerfists. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Still prevents Vaughn from standing back up.

Still is looking for a kimura but Vaughn is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Still to get the leverage. Still is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Vaughn is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Still seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Still wants to pass the guard but Vaughn is defending well. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Still trying to control but he's not successful this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matt Still dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Vaughn utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Still lands a couple of decent looking shots. Still with a nice head shot there. Still drops back, looking for a kneebar! Vaughn looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Vaughn looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Vaughn! Still is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Vaughn decides to take the fight back to the feet. Vaughn throws a poor cross that misses
and Still counters with a solid body kick. Vaughn is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fight moves into the clinch position. Vaughn is trying to push Still away but Still has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Still throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Vaughns head. Vaughn is looking to break free of the clinch but Still has double underhooks. Still lands with a light punch inside. Vaughn escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Vaughn walks into a straight right hand from Still. Still shoots in for a double leg but Vaughn sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Vaughn connects with a nice looking jab.

A shot to the liver by Vaughn. Beautiful body shot. Still jabs Vaughn right on the nose. Vaughn blinks but takes it well. Still lands a jab to Vaughn's midsection. Still misses with a jab, cross combination.
Still throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Vaughn stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Still moves into the clinch. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Vaughn as Still tries to tie him up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Still working some nice short punches in the clinch. Vaughn takes a shot to the head. Still throws a punch but it's blocked by Vaughn. Vaughn has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Still tries to pull guard but Vaughn won't allow it.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Vaughn prevents the takedown attempt.

Still lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Vaughn tries to circle away but Still has him pinned against the cage. Still throws a punch but it's blocked by Vaughn. Still is working Vaughn over against the cage. Vaughn is looking to break free of the clinch but Still has double underhooks. Vaughn breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Rick Vaughn is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Vaughn takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Still closes the distance and clinches. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Vaughn tries to break free but Still pushes him back against the cage. Vaughn wants to get back to striking at distance but Still won't allow it.

Vaughn's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Still prevents Vaughn from breaking the clinch. A frustrated look appears on Vaughn's face as he tries to break the clinch. A nice right hand lands inside from Still. Still lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Still lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Vaughn backwards. Still makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Still is working Vaughn over against the cage. Still lands a left hand.
Still is working for takedown but Vaughn is calmly controlling the position for now. Vaughn looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Vaughn blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Still works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Still keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Vaughn's efforts to push away. Still ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Still no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Vaughn wanted to stand there but Still had control of the position. Still looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Vaughn is defending well. Still quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Vaughn has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Still celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
