The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smirnov tries to keep at a distance but Trezeguet has taken the fight into the clinch.

Trezeguet ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Trezeguet no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Smirnov stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Smirnov wants it to stay on the feet.
Smirnov will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

OK we're going to have a standup here. David Trezeguet hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Smirnov fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Trezeguet on the side of the head.
Trezeguet shoots in looking for a takedown. Smirnov tries to sprawl out of it but Trezeguet keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Smirnov manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

A head kick by Trezeguet misses
and Smirnov counters with a straight right hand.
Trezeguet tries for a takedown but Smirnov sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Smirnov throws a nice looking combination but Trezeguet bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Trezeguet shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Smirnov's guard.

David Trezeguet comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Trezeguet has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
