These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flare throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
letting Hatcher counter with a right hand.
Hatcher scores with a leg kick.
Hatcher misses with a looping right.
Tommy Hatcher seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Flare's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Hatcher connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Flare scrambles back to his feet.

and Flare makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Flare closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Flare goes for a takedown in the clinch but Hatcher prevents it.
Hatcher lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Flare. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Tommy Hatcher was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Flare takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Flare misses with a takedown
and Hatcher counters with a stiff jab, followed by a cross and an uppercut! That's too much punishment for Flare to take - he tumbles to the canvas, blood pouring from his nose, barely conscious. That's the end of the fight! Great knockout by Hatcher!
