Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Domink Bylicki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jeremir Jagr!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Johanna Lukiainen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jagr fails with the takedown

and Bylicki counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Jagr's guard now.

Bylicki tries to free his leg and advance position but Jagr is retaining full guard.
Jagr is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Bylicki knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jagr on the ground.
Bylicki stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jagr swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bylicki is looking to take a break and control but Jagr is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Bylicki is working Jagr over with some ground and pound from side control.

You can see the frustration on Jagr's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Bylicki scores with a couple of short elbows.

Bylicki is trying to get an arm triangle but Jagr is defending well.
Jagr wants to control but Bylicki postures up.
Bylicki is looking to take a break and control but Jagr is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Jagr is trying to control but can't.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Bylicki seems to be working for a kimura but Jagr defends the submission attempt.
Bylicki moves nicely into side control.
Bylicki wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jagr keeps working.

Bylicki stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Jagr throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jagr avoids a kick to the body.
Bylicki shoots and misses
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Jagr feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Jagr is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Jagr's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Jagr wants to pass the guard but Bylicki is keeping the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Jagr postures up in Bylicki's guard and throws a big left but Bylicki blocks it.

Bylicki wants to get back to his feet but Jagr is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Jagr wants to control from the top but Bylicki keeps moving.

Jeremir Jagr has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

and Bylicki decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jagr's guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bylicki accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Bylicki will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Bylicki fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jagr avoids it really well and circles away.

and Bylicki counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Bylicki will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Jagr tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Jagr is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Jagr is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jeremir Jagr.

Bylicki closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jagr did well to prevent Bylicki getting side control.

Jagr manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Domink Bylicki overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Jagr trying to get back to full guard but Bylicki takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!

Jagr is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Bylicki defends well.

Jagr is looking to control Bylicki's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Jagr avoid being mounted?
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Bylicki is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bylicki, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
